This no-cost program provides participants with educational resources on irrigation system basics, an evaluation of their existing irrigation system, minor irrigation repairs and retrofits, and the potential installation of a new weather-based irrigation controller. Repairs may include replacing and adjusting sprinkler nozzles, repairing valves and bad wiring, reprogramming of weather-based irrigation controllers, flushing drip irrigation, and replacing couplers and emitters. Weather-based irrigation controllers set watering schedules, adjust their schedules based on local weather, and monitor water usage. For more information, and to sign up, please contact Chris Garcia at cgarcia@ieua.org or contact the IEUA Water Use Efficiency Hotline at 909-993-1952.
The Turnkey Turf Transformation (T3) Program, funded by the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) via the 2022 Urban Community Drought Relief Grant, is a multi-agency collaborative initiative, transforming highly visible public and commercial turf landscapes into water-efficient landscapes. Spanning locations within Calleguas Municipal Water District (CMWD), Las Virgenes Municipal Water District (LVMWD), and the Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District (USGVMWD) service areas, the program hopes not only cut water use on selected Commercial, Industrial, Institution (CII) and Public Agency (PA) sites, but inspire other public and commercial sites to transform their high-water use landscapes. To learn more about the T3 program, please visit the Turnkey Turf Transformation Program page.
