Elections:
Inland Empire Utilities Agency is governed by a five member Board of Directors who are elected to staggered four year terms by registered voters within their divisions as defined by the division boundary map. The San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters administers all local elections including the Inland Empire Utilities Agency’s. Information for the 2026 General Election:
The Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA) will conduct an election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, for members of its Board of Directors. The election will be for the three (3) Board of Director seats voted by-division (Division 2, 3, and 4).
Individuals interested in becoming a candidate for the IEUA Board of Directors may obtain information regarding candidacy and nomination papers through the IEUA Board Secretary’s Office.
Candidate Filing Period (November 3, 2026 General Election)
The nomination period for prospective candidates is as follows:
- Opens: Monday, July 13, 2026, when nomination papers become available.
- Closes: Friday, August 7, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
Extended Filing Period: If an eligible incumbent officeholder does not file nomination papers by the close of the regular filing period, the nomination period for that office will be extended through Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., for candidates other than the incumbent, as provided by the California Elections Code.
During the filing period, prospective candidates may begin the nomination process by obtaining and completing the required nomination documents through the IEUA Board Service’s Office. Please note that obtaining nomination documents from IEUA does not complete the filing process. Candidates are required to schedule an appointment with the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters to file their completed nomination documents and complete the candidate filing process.
The IEUA Board Service’s Office is available to assist prospective candidates during normal business hours, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Appointments are strongly encouraged.
