Inland Empire, CA – The Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA) is proud to announce that its Contracts and Facilities Services Department is the recipient of its 14th Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award, which recognizes organizational excellence in procurement. The award is achieved by those organizations that demonstrate excellence in procurement by obtaining a high score on a rating of standardized criteria. The program is designed to measure innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity, and leadership attributes of the procurement function.

IEUA strives to ensure that its procurement process adheres to the guiding principles (fair, transparent and costeffective) of a nationally recognized, world class purchasing organization. This 14th Award is especially gratifying.

“IEUA staff continues to demonstrate professionalism and efficiency while making process improvements each year. This recognition is a testament to staff’s commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service and efficient bid practices while insisting on best practices for public procurement,” stated IEUA Board President Steve Elie.

IEUA is one of only 45 government agencies in California and one of only 25 special districts throughout the United States and Canada to receive the award.

The Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award is sponsored by the National Procurement Institute, the California Association of Public Procurement Officials, Florida Association of Public Procurement Officials, NIGP: The Institute for Public Procurement, the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing, and the National Association of State Procurement Officials, among other professional organizations.

The Inland Empire Utilities Agency covers 242-square miles, distributes imported water, provides industrial/municipal wastewater collection and treatment services, and other related utility services to more than 875,000 people through its member agencies which include Chino, Chino Hills, Cucamonga Valley Water District, Fontana, Fontana Water Company, Montclair, Monte Vista Water District, Ontario and Upland.
