INLAND EMPIRE, CA – The Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA/Agency) invites residents to join virtual community workshops to learn more about the redistricting process, options and information available to them.

“Transparency has always been a core value of IEUA,” stated IEUA Board President Steve Elie. “Through these workshops and hearings, we hope to foster an open dialogue for communication regarding the redistricting process and offer an opportunity for residents to provide their input.”

IEUA’s service area is comprised of five divisions, each represented by one member of IEUA’s five-person Board of Directors. California Water Code requires municipal water districts to adjust division boundaries after each decennial U.S. census. Based on census information, boundaries may need to be modified so that divisions represent populations that are nearly as equal as possible.

The Agency will host virtual workshops and hearings throughout the following two months. The first community workshop will be held on Tuesday, January 18, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Workshop links can be accessed by visiting ieua.org/redistricting. For those unable to participate in the live sessions, meeting recordings will be available on the Agency’s website following their conclusion.

Additional workshop and hearing dates and corresponding links can be found at ieua.org/redistricting.

Any attendee requiring language interpretation or reasonable accommodation to participate in the workshops due to a qualified disability must send an email to redistricting@ieua.org at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting.

For questions, comments or more information, visit ieua.org/redistricting or send an email to redistricting@ieua.org.
