INLAND EMPIRE, CA –Denise Garzaro has joined the Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA/Agency) as Board Secretary / Office Manager.

Ms. Garzaro comes to IEUA from the County of San Bernardino, where she served as Chief Deputy Clerk of the Board.

Her responsibilities included developing, coordinating and managing staff support functions for the Board of Supervisors and Assessment Appeals Board. Prior to that, Ms. Garzaro worked for the South Coast Air Quality Management District where she served as the Clerk of the Board. In this role she provided support to the Governing and Hearing Boards and coordinated responsibilities and activities with Board members, district personnel, public agencies, and private organizations.

As Board Secretary / Office Manager, Ms. Garzaro will plan, organize and coordinate the activities of the Board, serve as the recording secretary for Board meetings, supervise and direct the administrative activities of the Executive Office, and provide professional advice to Agency management and the Board of Directors on compliance with legal requirements related to Agency elections, meeting notifications and disclosure requirements.

Ms. Garzaro earned a Master of Science degree in Leadership and Management from the University of La Verne, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from California State University Long Beach. Ms. Garzaro is a commissioned California Notary Public and a Certified Municipal Clerk through the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.

 The Inland Empire Utilities Agency covers 242-square miles, distributes imported water, provides industrial/municipal wastewater collection and treatment services, and other related utility services to more than 875,000 people through its member agencies which include Chino, Chino Hills, Cucamonga Valley Water District, Fontana, Fontana Water Company, Montclair, Monte Vista Water District, Ontario, and Upland.
