INLAND EMPIRE, CA – The Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA/Agency) invites residents to join its first virtual Public Hearing regarding the Agency’s redistricting process during its monthly Board Meeting on Wednesday, February 16 at 10:00 AM.

According to the California Water Code, municipal water districts like IEUA are required to adjust division boundaries after each decennial U.S. census so that divisions represent populations that are as equal as possible. The purpose of this initial Public Hearing is to allow for public input on the redistricting process.

“IEUA’s Board wants to ensure that the redistricting process is transparent, and community members are able to provide input on the options proposed for new division boundaries,” commented IEUA Board President Steve Elie. “For residents who were unable to attend the two previous community workshops, this hearing is a great opportunity to get involved and gain further insight into the redistricting process.”

The livestream of the hearing can be accessed at www.ieua.org/agendas-minutes/ and a recording will be available  in the meeting archives following the meeting’s conclusion. All previous community workshops and additional redistricting information can be viewed on the Agency’s redistricting landing page at www.ieua.org/redistricting/.

To submit questions or comments, residents may fill out the online submission form at www.ieua.org/redistricting/ or send an email to redistricting@ieua.org.

Following the Public Hearing, the Board may select a preferred map to adopt at a future public hearing or suggest revisions to one or more of the map options for future IEUA Board consideration.
