INLAND EMPIRE, CA – The Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA/Agency) has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for Fiscal Year 2023/2024. The Agency has been honored with this remarkable achievement for 27 consecutive years.

The GFOA represents over 25,000 public finance officials throughout the United States and Canada. The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program was established in 1945 to encourage and assist State and local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

“To attain this achievement for 27 consecutive years is not only a testament to our Agency’s unwavering commitment to transparency and accountability, but also a reflection of the dedication, integrity, and excellence of our Finance and Accounting staff,” stated Marco Tule, IEUA Board President. “We are proud to uphold the highest standards in public service and financial stewardship, ensuring that our community’s trust is earned and honored year after year. Thank you to GFOA for this tremendous recognition.”

The ACFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and encourage a variety of audiences to read the report.
