INLAND EMPIRE, CA – The Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA/Agency) has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its annual comprehensive financial report (ACFR) for fiscal year 2019/2020. The GFOA represents public finance officials throughout the United States and Canada. The association’s 20,000 members are Federal, State/Provincial and local finance officials involved in the implementation of various governmental operations in each of their jurisdictions. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
“To obtain this achievement for 23 consecutive years is truly a testament to the outstanding work done by IEUA’s Finance and Accounting teams and their dedication to excellence,” stated Jasmin A. Hall, IEUA Board President. “The Agency takes pride in producing financial reports that prioritize fiscal transparency and responsibility and is extremely honored to accept this award.”
The ACFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and encourage a variety of audiences to read the report.
