INLAND EMPIRE, CA – The Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA) is joining communities nationwide in supporting the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) National Take Back Day. On Saturday, October 24, from 10 AM to 2 PM, participating collection sites throughout IEUA’s service area will accept unwanted, unused, and expired prescription medications. This FREE and anonymous service provides residents with a safe and convenient way to dispose of medications. No questions asked.

As a regional wastewater treatment agency and wholesale water provider, IEUA encourages residents to consider how everyday disposal choices can impact our water resources. Medications should never be flushed down the toilet, poured down the drain, or improperly discarded, as pharmaceuticals can enter wastewater systems and affect water quality.

National Take Back Day provides a safe, convenient, and free way for residents to dispose of unwanted, unused, and expired medications. The event also supports the goals of the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts’ “No Drugs Down the Drain” campaign, reminding residents that proper medication disposal helps keep pharmaceuticals out of our water supply and protects our waterways, environment, and public health.
