Regional Sewerage System

To be able to discharge industrial wastewater to the Agency's Regional Sewerage System (RSS), the level of total dissolved solids (TDS) has to be less than or equal to 550 mg/l (this level may be changed in the future). If the TDS is greater than 550 mg/l, the industrial wastewater has to be discharged to the Non-Reclaimable Wastewater System.

If your industry has TDS levels of 550 mg/l or less, please contact the city or sewerage agency where your industry is located to apply for wastewater discharge permit. If the city contact or sewerage agency determines that your industry is categorized as Significant Industrial User (SIU), he or she will either refer or forward your application to the Agency for permit process if needed. The Agency currently provides the pretreatment services for SIUs located in the service areas of the Cucamonga County Water District and the City of Upland. Other cities, namely, the City of Chino, Fontana, and Ontario are currently providing pretreatment services for their own SIUs.
